Note 27

This is the current hardware configuration of the packet satellite subnet. During the first phase of the project, BBN installed a Honeywell 316 Satellite IMP at the British Post Office earth station at Goonhilly, England, and another at the COMSAT earth station at Etam, West Virginia. In addition, a PDP-11/35 gat jay machine was installed during the last year at UCL, London, and another at BBN. The UCL gateway is connected to the Goonhilly Satellite IMP by a 50Kbps line supplied by BPO, using a Very Distant Host (VDH) package at each end, and connected to the UCL TIP using a local Host connection. The BBN gateway is presently connected to the ETAM Satellite IMP through the ARPANET using ARPANET Host ports at BBN.
