Over the years, http://www.bbn.com has changed many times. A sad fact of the web is that these changes many times destroy evidence from the past. One tool that can be used to investigate the past on the web is the Wayback Machine that was invented by Brewster Kahle of MIT and Thinking Machines. The Wayback Machine attempts the impossible task of taking samples of the state of the web at various moments in time. The earliest point in time where I can find a snapshot of BBN's website is December 23, 1996. If anybody has access to earlier shapshots, please let me know.
